Carra's Review

Nachos and Hash is the first book I’ve read by Brandon Witt, and just with this one novella I’m hooked and adding the rest of his books to my TBR list.  This story was sweet, lighthearted and I loved all of the characters (well, except for Cody’s parents, but that’s to be expected).  This book does an excellent job of setting up for more in the series, and I can’t wait to read more.

Cody is so freaking adorable.  He’s finally happy with his life, and is exactly where he wants to be…no thanks to his parents-but he’s found a new family at Hamburger Mary’s.  Darwin is a sweetheart as well, immediately captivated by Cody.  Even though this is a novella-length story, the characters are still well developed, and both Darwin and Cody quickly wormed their way into my heart.  They have excellent chemistry together, and I loved how Darwin pursued Cody trying to form a solid relationship.

We do get some bumps along the way with a bit of a misunderstanding between the two, and there’s Cody’s parents in the wings trying to stir up trouble…both of these things lead to some tension that helps both Cody and Darwin’s characters grow.  The supporting characters are fantastic, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of them in future stories.

Nachos and Hash was a solid 4-star read for me, and I definitely recommend this to any M/M romance fan.  It’s a quick read, but still gives you a fully satisfying story with well-rounded characters who you can’t help but love.  As sweet as it is, it does have some sexy spice so this one’s for readers 18+ for adult language and M/M sexual content.  I can’t wait for the next book in the series…and I’ll be checking out the closest real Hamburger Mary’s as soon as possible-it sounds like a blast!  ;-)
