About the Blog & Review Policy

Hello all! I'm Carra and I originally started this blog as a way to keep track of my training when I started doing half marathons, mostly for myself but out there in the blogosphere where anyone could read it if they were so inclined. I've now transitioned to book reviews, cover reveals and blog tours (in addition to the occasional personal posts from the blog team). I'm a voracious reader and love to share about the books I read. As the blog has grown, I've also added readers to the review team to add diversity to the reviews, but also to accommodate the increasing amount of review requests we've been receiving (if you're interested in possibly joining the team, please check out the Review Team Application here).  I'm glad you stopped by to check the blog out!

Here's me so you know who's behind the computer screen...I'm the one on the left LOL

Just so we've got the full-disclosure thing going on, here's the blog disclosure:

This policy is valid from 27 April 2013

This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me, featuring reviews written by me and Making it Happen's team of reviewers. For questions about this blog, please contact Carra Saigh (makingithappenblog at gmail dot com).

This blog does have a small Google Ads column in the sidebar...though between this blog and my other personal blog, I have yet to make anything from them. However, the blog will and does accept and keep free products, services, travel, event tickets, and other forms of compensation from companies and organizations. Or would if they were offered. The compensation received will never influence the content, topics or posts made in this blog. All advertising is in the form of advertisements generated by a third party ad network.

The owner of this blog and the blog's review team are not compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the blog owner's and the blog's reviewers'. If we claim or appear to be an expert on a certain topic or product or service area, we will only endorse products or services that we believe, based on our expertise, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.

This blog does not contain any content which might present a conflict of interest.

BOOK REVIEWS: Whether the blog is provided with a complimentary copy of a book by an author, publisher or other promotional company or we purchase a copy ourselves, all of the book reviews are our own sometimes brutally honest opinion(s), so be prepared for a straightforward, no nonsense evaluation. If a reviewer gives a book less than a 3-star (out of 5) rating, we will not post that review here on the blog but will still post it on book sites such as Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and iTunes. Just a heads up, we can be sticklers for the basics like grammar and spelling since no matter how good a story may be, when the basics are bad it detracts from the entire read. Note that when we are provided with an ARC copy of a book, we will only review on story content. We review both traditionally published and independent authors in YA, NA, and adult, and stick to primarily romance (contemporary, paranormal, sci-fi, erotic; M/F and M/M), however other genres may also be accepted for review as the reviewer team grows.

If you would like to submit a review request, please email us at makingithappenblog at gmail dot com and we will get back to you as soon as we are able.  At this time, we are receiving a very large number of requests, so please understand if you do not hear from us right away it is due to the volume of requests we are currently handling. You may also message us on the blog's Facebook page. Most of our reviewers use both the Kindle app and iBooks, so review copies can be in mobi, ePub or PDF format, or can be gifted from either outlet. I (Carra) am also a member of NetGalley and registered with Edelweiss (NetGalley/Edelweiss email provided upon request). As of December 25, 2018, the timeline on completing review requests will vary depending on reviewer-for the blog owner (Carra), it is approximately late January to early February-about 6 weeks-due to the number of reviews I am currently committed to do. The other reviewers on the team will vary from two to six weeks.

Thank you for considering Making it Happen when searching for reviewers, and if you have any further questions please let us know.

PROOFREADING SERVICES: Since I (Carra) do have a reputation for being a stickler for the basics, I have had several inquiries regarding proofreading services. I currently do basic proofreading as a beta reader for some authors, and will be expanding this service in 2019. My timeline for beta reading specifically for basic proofreading is currently the same as review requests, currently at 6 weeks (if you know ahead of time the beta availability date, I can always schedule it in to reserve a spot on my reading schedule) , and inquiries can also be emailed to makingithappenblog at gmail dot com or messaged to the blog's Facebook page
